Lewis Arms (Mill Road, CF15 7JP; 02920 810330) is the village pub on the Taff Trail — a proper community local with Brains cask beers, an outdoor terrace, dog-friendly, food served Mon–Sat 12–9 and Sun 12–8. A genuinely good pub lunch after a walk. Forest Tea Room is located within Fforest Fawr itself — a seasonal tearoom among the trees, worth checking operating hours before visiting. First Light Coffee on the main road in Tongwynlais village is the local independent café for post-walk espresso and snacks.
