How Abersoch works

Abersoch visitor guide

Abersoch is the Llŷn sailing village — Gwynedd taxi table; summer yachts and beach, winter is a different place. This guide covers how you arrive, eat, stay and get practical help — then links into the full pillar pages.

Tariff 1 flag £3.00 — about £6.00 for 2 miles (daytime). Official Abersoch taxi fares

Getting here

Most visitors arrive by car. Manchester and Liverpool airports are closer than Cardiff for most flights — pre-book private hire with luggage space.

The village to the harbour and Warren beach is a short hop.

Getting around

The village, harbour and Warren sit a short hop from each other. Hackney carriages use the Gwynedd meter — the same table as Pwllheli, not a second fare.

Private hire must be pre-booked with a price agreed when you book — see the Abersoch tariff page.

Eat

Yacht-strip and Warren independents. August fills the village. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.

Many cafes close by mid-afternoon. Pwllheli is the market-harbour sitting, not this yacht strip.

Stay

Yacht-strip hotels and B&Bs. Book summer. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site.

Pwllheli market rooms are a different product on the same taxi table.

If something breaks

Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Gwynedd permit — £74 for up to 1 month on the skip page.

Get scope and price in writing before walls open, especially on Warren streets.

Do

The harbour, Warren and summer yachts are the core. Pwllheli is a day trip on the same taxi table.

If you only have a weekend

Walk the harbour and Warren, eat once with a checkable FSA rating, and sleep in the village if you can. Leave Sunday without treating Pwllheli as this page.
