How Amlwch works
Amlwch visitor guide
Amlwch is Anglesey's northern copper-port town — Isle of Anglesey taxi table, Parys Mountain rather than Beaumaris's castle green. This guide covers how you arrive, eat, stay and get practical help — then links into the full pillar pages.
Getting here
Most visitors arrive by car on the A5025. Manchester and Liverpool airports are closer than Cardiff for most flights — pre-book private hire with luggage space.
The town centre to Parys Mountain is a short hop.
Getting around
The town and Parys sit a short hop from each other. Hackney carriages use the Isle of Anglesey meter — the same table as Beaumaris, not a second fare.
Private hire must be pre-booked with a price agreed when you book — see the Amlwch tariff page.
Eat
Copper-port and Parys independents. Saturday fills the town. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.
Many cafes close by mid-afternoon. Beaumaris is the castle-green sitting, not this copper-port.
Stay
Northern hotels and B&Bs. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site. Saturday fills the streets.
Beaumaris castle-green rooms are a different product on the same taxi table.
If something breaks
Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need an Isle of Anglesey permit — a registered skip company applies on your behalf.
Get scope and price in writing before walls open, especially on Parys-edge streets.
Do
Parys Mountain and the copper-port streets are the core. Beaumaris is a day trip on the same taxi table. This town is not a holiday harbour.
If you only have a weekend
Walk the town and Parys, eat once with a checkable FSA rating, and sleep in town if you can. Leave Sunday without treating Beaumaris as this page.
