Getting here
Most visitors arrive by train into Caerphilly, or by car from the A469/A468. Cardiff Airport is a Vale and M4 hop — pre-book private hire; the CBC hackney table is not an airport quote.
The station to the castle is walkable. Coaches drop near the centre.
Getting around
The centre and castle are compact. Blackwood and Bargoed share the Caerphilly CBC taxi table — not a second fare, and not Cardiff's meter.

Eat
Town-centre independents under the walls. Cadw event days fill nearby rooms. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.
Many cafes close by mid-afternoon. This is not a Cardiff Bay strip.
Stay
Town hotels and guest houses suit castle weekends. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site. Event days push rates.
Cardiff is a different stay and a different taxi table if you are commuting in.
If something breaks
Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Caerphilly CBC licence — £28.39 on the council fees list; the skip operator applies, with 48 hours' notice.

The castle is the core. Cadw tickets live on Cadw's own site. Event days reshape the town — plan food and parking. This is not a boat harbour or a beach.
