Getting here
Most visitors arrive by train into Criccieth, or by car. Manchester and Liverpool airports are closer than Cardiff for most flights — pre-book private hire with luggage space.
The station to the castle and seafront is a short hop.
Getting around
The castle, seafront and two beaches sit a short hop from each other. Hackney carriages use the Gwynedd meter — the same table as Porthmadog, not a second fare.

Eat
Castle-headland and seafront independents. August fills the town. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.
Many cafes close by mid-afternoon. Porthmadog is the cob-harbour sitting, not this headland.
Stay
Castle-headland hotels and B&Bs. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site. August fills the seafront streets.
Porthmadog harbour rooms are a different product on the same taxi table.
If something breaks
Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Gwynedd permit — £74 for up to 1 month on the skip page.
