Getting here
Most visitors arrive by train into Flint, or by car on the A548. Manchester and Liverpool airports are closer than Cardiff for most flights — pre-book private hire with luggage space.
The station to the castle is a short hop.
Getting around
The castle, station and town centre sit a short walk from each other. Hackney carriages use the Flintshire meter — the same table as Mold and Buckley, not a second fare.

Eat
Castle and station independents. Saturday fills the centre. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.
Many cafes close by mid-afternoon. Mold is the inland county sitting, not this Dee-shore castle.
Stay
Castle-town hotels. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site. Saturday fills the streets.

If something breaks
Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Flintshire permit — £60 for the first week on the skip-permit page.
Get scope and price in writing before walls open, especially on castle streets.
Do
The castle, station and Dee-shore walks are the core. Mold's county market is a day trip on the same taxi table. This shore is industrial, not a holiday beach.
If you only have a weekend
Walk the castle and station streets, eat once with a checkable FSA rating, and sleep in town if you can. Leave Sunday without treating Mold or Connah's Quay as this page.
