How Goodwick works

Goodwick visitor guide

Wdig

Goodwick (Wdig) is the Stena ferry port beside Fishguard — Pembrokeshire taxi table; harbour and station, not the Lower Town square. This guide covers how you arrive, eat, stay and get practical help — then links into the full pillar pages.

Tariff 1 flag £4.00 — about £7.00 for 2 miles (daytime). Official Goodwick taxi fares

Getting here

Most visitors arrive by train into Fishguard & Goodwick, by ferry, or by car. Cardiff Airport is a long road hop — pre-book private hire with luggage space.

The station to the ferry terminal is a short hop.

Getting around

The harbour, station and terminal sit a short hop from each other. Hackney carriages use the Pembrokeshire meter — the same table as Fishguard, not a second fare.

Private hire must be pre-booked with a price agreed when you book — see the Goodwick tariff page.

Eat

Ferry-port and harbour independents. Sailing days fill the town. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.

Many cafes close by mid-afternoon. Fishguard is the Lower Town sitting, not this harbour.

Stay

Harbour hotels and B&Bs. Book around sailing days. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site.

Fishguard Lower Town rooms are a different product on the same taxi table.

If something breaks

Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Pembrokeshire permit — £61.50 per month or part on the street-works fees page.

Get scope and price in writing before walls open, especially on harbour streets.

Do

The harbour, ferry terminal and station are the core. Fishguard is a day trip on the same taxi table.

If you only have a weekend

Walk the harbour and terminal, eat once with a checkable FSA rating, and sleep in town if you can. Leave Sunday without treating Fishguard as this page.
