Magor visitor guide

Magwyr

Magor (Magwyr) is the M4-edge village with Magor Marsh nearby — Newport taxi table; motorway services are not the village. This guide covers how you arrive, eat, stay and get practical help — then links into the full pillar pages.

Tariff 1 flag £3.50 — about £7.00 for 2 miles (daytime). Official Magor taxi fares

Getting here

Most visitors arrive by car from the M4 or by rail to Severn Tunnel Junction. Cardiff Airport and Bristol are the usual flights — pre-book private hire with luggage space.

The square to the Junction is a short drive.

Getting around

The square and marsh sit a short hop from each other. Hackney carriages use the Newport meter — same table as the city, a different hop.

Private hire must be pre-booked with a price agreed when you book — see the Magor tariff page.

If something breaks

Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Newport permit — £63.63 for 14 days on the skips page.

Get scope and price in writing before walls open, especially on square streets.
