Getting here
Most visitors arrive by train into Newtown, or by car. Birmingham, Manchester or Cardiff Airport depending on the flight — all are long private-hire jobs.
The station to the centre and Severn is a short hop.
Getting around
The centre, station and Severn sit a short hop from each other. Hackney carriages use the Powys meter — the same table as Welshpool, not a second fare.

Severn-town and market independents. Saturday fills the centre. FSA hygiene ratings run 0–5 — search the venue on food.gov.uk before you book.

Severn-town hotels. Confirm breakfast, parking and cancellation on the venue's own site. Saturday fills the streets.

If something breaks
Gas Safe before any gas or boiler work. Electrical jobs should leave a certificate. Highway skips on a public road need a Powys licence — the skip operator applies on the council skip-licence page; confirm the current fee with the company.

Do
The market, station and Severn are the core. Welshpool's castle is a day trip on the same taxi table. This town is not a spa.
If you only have a weekend
Walk the centre and Severn, eat once with a checkable FSA rating, and sleep in town if you can. Leave Sunday without treating Welshpool as this page.
