Sunday lunch in Wales: what the roast price includes

A Sunday roast on a Welsh menu is a printed number, not a locked total. We do not publish a fake “typical Wales roast price” — rooms set their own boards.

What the number usually includes

• VAT is already in most UK restaurant prices. You should not see a separate VAT line for a normal table meal.
• The plate as described — meat, potatoes, vegetables as written. Extra pigs-in-blankets and extra gravy are extras if the menu says so.

What it often does not include

• Service — optional, discretionary, or a stated percentage for larger tables. Read the small print.
• “From” — the cheapest roast on that line. A larger cut or a children’s plate is a different line.
• Drinks.
