The Ivor Hael pub (01 Cardiff Rd, Nantgarw) is the local community pub serving bar food. For a proper sit-down meal, Pontypridd (5 miles) has independent restaurants, and Cardiff (8 miles) the full city dining range. The Bunch of Grapes at Ynysybwl (near Pontypridd) is an award-winning craft beer pub worth the short detour.
