A grass pitch, a hook-up, and a furnished glamping hut are three products. GOV.WALES domestic overnight-trip figures for 2022 put caravan, camping and glamping at 21% of trips to Wales (serviced accommodation was 38%, self-catering 12%).
What you are buying
- Pitch — your tent or touring van. Electric, showers and a fire pit are extra unless stated.
- Caravan / motorhome pitch — often a hook-up and a hardstanding. Still not a cottage.
- Glamping — a bed in a hut, yurt or cabin. Often closer to self-catering extras (linen, cleaning) than to a £10 field.
