Chirk Castle (National Trust, about 1 mile north) is not the aqueduct. Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is about 2 miles east at Trevor basin — free towpath walk, 38 metres above the Dee. Offa's Dyke passes nearby.

This is the Ceiriog border — not Wrexham city and not Llangollen town. Lion Quays spa is just over the border in Shropshire.
