Kenfig Pool and the surrounding dune slack is SSSI-designated and one of Wales's best wildlife sites — home to fen orchids (a critically rare species), migrant waders in autumn, and one of the most important water beetle assemblages in Wales. Entry is free; the NNR car park is off the B4283.
