Bangor is a working city rather than a holiday resort, and its accommodation reflects that — chain hotels and city-centre guesthouses serving university visitors, NHS staff, and conference delegates. The Quay Hotel (if checking current options) and Hotel Ty Newydd give a flavour of the range. Self-catering is relatively affordable compared with Llandudno or Caernarfon.

For visitors using Bangor as a base, the train connections are excellent: Holyhead (30 min), Chester (1 hr 10 min), and a direct service to London Euston (3 hrs) mean you can stay here and day-trip widely.
