What to know
camping in Conwy
Conwy is the walled harbour town with the castle — Conwy County Borough taxi table; walls and quay, not Llandudno’s pier.
Where to stay
Conwy is small — staying inside or immediately beside the walls is an experience in itself, with the sound of the estuary and views of the lit castle at night. There are boutique B&Bs on Castle Street and a handful of hotels outside the walls near the A55 junction. Book early for summer; availability is tight given the town's popularity and limited hotel stock.
One practical note: parking at hotels inside the town walls is extremely limited. If you're driving, confirm with your accommodation whether they have a dedicated space or whether you'll need to use the pay-and-display car parks each day (Morfa Bach is largest and rarely fills even in summer).
Conwy CBC Visitor Levy decision after 24 September 2026; earliest implementation October 2027 if adopted. No levy applies currently.
