Hotels in Holyhead

Port hotels — ferry nights, not a Beaumaris castle-green room.

Holyhead hotels sit in the port town near the station and terminal — useful if you are catching an Irish sailing. Confirm parking; sailings fill rooms. Beaumaris castle-green hotels are a different product on the same taxi table.

What to know

hotels in Holyhead

Holyhead (Caergybi) is the Irish-ferry port on Holy Island — Isle of Anglesey taxi table; terminal, breakwater and station, not a quiet sailing village.

Where to stay

Holyhead has functional accommodation — chain travel hotels and guesthouses near the ferry terminal catering primarily for people catching early sailings to Dublin. For a leisure stay on Anglesey, most visitors base themselves at Trearddur Bay (2 miles south-west) or Valley area rather than in Holyhead itself — the nearby beaches at Trearddur are excellent.

The town centre has been undergoing regeneration; the Ucheldre Centre arts venue and the redevelopment around the marina provide visitor focal points. South Stack Lighthouse (RSPB reserve, 3 miles west) is a world-class seabird site in summer.
