Treforest is primarily a university town (University of South Wales campus) with student accommodation dominating. The Holiday Inn Express Cardiff North (A470 junction, 4 miles south) is the nearest branded hotel. Pontypridd town centre (1 mile north) has a small selection of B&Bs. The Bunch of Grapes pub at Ynysybwl (2 miles north) has become a destination enough to warrant staying nearby. No RCT levy.
