Walking and outdoors

The Constitution Hill funicular (Britain's longest electric cliff railway) crests at 430 ft for a panorama across Cardigan Bay and as far as Snowdonia on clear days. The National Library of Wales on Penglais Hill is free to enter and holds the Black Book of Carmarthen (one of the oldest Welsh manuscripts). For walkers, the Wales Coast Path south to Aberaeron (18 miles) is manageable as a one-way day walk with a taxi return from Aberaeron.
