Blorenge Mountain (559m) begins its ascent from the Brynmawr plateau edge — a moorland ridge walk with views across the Usk Valley toward the Sugar Loaf and the Monmouthshire countryside. The Market Hall Cinema & Museum (Market Square) is a heritage attraction in its own right. Blaenavon World Heritage Site (3 miles southeast) encompasses Big Pit National Coal Museum and the Blaenavon Ironworks.
