What to know

Walking and outdoors

The Druids' Circle walk from Llanfairfechan (via Cefn Coch, 3–4 hours return) takes walkers up past the Cefn Coch stone circle to the Meini Hirion (Druids' Circle), a 4,000-year-old Bronze Age monument on the moorland above town. The Carneddau traverse to Carnedd Llewelyn (1,064 m) is a full mountain day (12 miles, serious equipment needed). The lower Sychnant Pass Walk (4 miles) from Penmaenmawr to Dwygyfylchi is gentler and passes through bracken moorland with coastal views.
