Rhondda Heritage Park (Trehafod, 2 miles south) is the valleys' premier industrial heritage experience — underground tours of Lewis Merthyr Colliery, a 4D theatre and winding-gear demonstrations. The Penrhys ridge above Porth (545m) offers wide views across both Rhondda valleys and toward the Vale of Glamorgan.
