The Tennant Canal towpath walk (5 miles, Neath to Swansea Canal terminus at Jersey Marine) follows a restored industrial waterway through the Neath estuary area with birdwatching opportunities. The Vale of Neath Waterfall Trail (Ystradfellte, 12 miles north) is accessible by car and includes the famous walk behind Sgwd yr Eira waterfall.
