What to know
Things to do
Tonyrefail's appeal is its valley character — a community shaped by coal mining and now greening back to its pre-industrial self. The Llantrisant Common (3 miles east) is open-access grazing land above the valley. The Glamorganshire Golf Club (Llantwit Fardre, 4 miles northeast, 01443 202285, founded 1890) is one of the oldest golf clubs in Wales. The Coedely former colliery site is being developed as woodland. The village retains strong community identity through its Male Voice Choir and rugby club.
