What to know
Things to do
Treforest's most significant visitor attraction is its industrial heritage: the Treforest Industrial Estate was the UK's first government-funded industrial estate (1936), created during the depression to provide employment after the coal industry collapse. The Pontypridd Museum (Bridge Street, Pontypridd, 01443 490748) is free and covers the town's Chartist history, the Taff Vale Railway and local singer Tom Jones. Ynysangharad War Memorial Park (Pontypridd) has the National Lido of Wales — a stunning 1920s outdoor lido restored and operational.
