Walking and mountain leaders near Treharris

Park and viaduct — Taff is Pontypridd.

Treharris walking means the park, viaduct and the hop to Quakers Yard — Saturday footfall; Pontypridd's Taff Street is a different walk on the same taxi table, not a seaside.

What to know

Walking and outdoors

Quakers Yard (adjacent village) sits at the confluence of the Taff and Bargoed Taff rivers — a historically significant coaching stop. The Taff Trail long-distance cycling and walking route passes directly through, connecting Cardiff Bay (25 miles south) to Brecon (20 miles north) as a car-free corridor. The Deep Navigation Colliery heritage site (former headgear visible from the road) is a reminder of Treharris's role as a coal-producing community.
